BUFFET EVENING (NB 7pm)

Old Catton Society

On Thursday January 20th was the annual party for members which was held in the Village Hall.

The numbers were limited due to this pandemic, but we managed to have 34 members enjoying the excellent buffet and entertainment.

The excellent buffet was provided by Catton Kitchens who made it their last assignment before retiring from the catering business.

The evening’s entertainment was by Steve Allen who we had two years ago at a party. Steve’s range of music ranges from the 1950’s to quite new, which suited our members so that they could sing along to some of them, albeit quietly.

The evening was a huge success.

Our next meetings are Thursday 17th March – a talk given by Lindsay Carruthers on “ The British Legion”, and April the 21st sees the return of Phillida Scrivens to enlighten the members on “The Great Train Disaster at Thorpe 1874”.

The two books published by the society, “Catton in the 20th Century” and “Historic houses Of Old Catton”, are still available at the real discounted price of £3 each.
