Forty-eight of our Members met in the Village Hall for our annual celebratory “Buffet Evening” on January 20th. The Old Catton Kitchen provided us with a delicious buffet. It is lovely to have an outside catering firm so near at hand. Paul and Gail not only provide a quality food service they are also obliging and helpful nothing is too much trouble. Our grateful thanks go to them.
We were then regally entertained to an “Evening of Winter Songs” by Patrick Monk and Andy Weston, tenor and baritone respectively, they sang a suburb selection of songs. Gilbert and Sullivan, Flanders and Swann music was well represented. They were ably accompanied by Karen Smith on the piano. Patrick and Andy encouraged some audience participation which we all enjoyed especially the hippopotamus song.
All of us felt that we had had a very pleasant evening.
